Both pathways begin with assessment and diagnosis. The clinician will explain the reasonable treatment options and whether specialist care should be considered.
Clear professional distinction: Dr Soh Yu Jie is an SDC-registered Dental Specialist in Endodontics. Dr Grace Lau is a Dental Surgeon with postgraduate endodontic training and is not described as a specialist.

Dr Soh completed postgraduate specialist training in Endodontics at the National University of Singapore. His clinical interests include dental pain, non-surgical root canal treatment and retreatment, cracked teeth and root canal surgery.

Dr Grace has a special interest in root canal treatment. She pursued further studies in endodontics at King’s College London, where she was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Studies, and is currently completing a master’s degree in endodontics at the University of Birmingham, UK.
Following assessment, Dr Grace will explain whether the tooth can be managed through the general dental pathway or whether specialist endodontic care should be considered.
Dr Grace performs root canal treatment using a dental operating microscope for suitable cases. The microscope assists visualisation of the tooth’s internal anatomy during treatment.
