Replace missing teeth with a removable option planned around you.
Dentures may replace several missing teeth or a complete dental arch. Planning considers comfort, function, appearance, remaining teeth and the health of your gums.
Understand your options
What may be discussed.
Your dentist will recommend an option only after examining your teeth, gums and bite.
Partial dentures
A removable option for replacing some missing teeth while working around suitable remaining teeth.
Complete dentures
A removable replacement for a full upper or lower arch when no natural teeth remain in that arch.
Repairs and relines
Existing dentures may sometimes be adjusted, repaired or relined after the dentist assesses their fit and condition.
Compare pathways
See the differences at a glance.
The appropriate pathway depends on the number and position of missing teeth, remaining teeth, gums, function and your preferences.

Want additional denture retention?
Compare implant-supported overdentures.
An implant-supported overdenture remains removable for cleaning but attaches to dental implants for additional retention. Suitability depends on your teeth, gums, bone, medical history, maintenance needs and treatment goals.
Speech and chewing can feel different initially. Follow the dentist’s guidance and return for adjustment if discomfort persists.
Daily cleaning
Clean the denture and continue cleaning your gums, tongue and remaining teeth. Store the denture as your dentist advises.

Common questions
Helpful answers before your assessment.
Will dentures feel natural immediately?+
A period of adaptation is common. Fit, speech and chewing may improve with practice and appropriate adjustments. Contact the clinic if you develop persistent soreness or difficulty.
How should I clean my dentures?+
Clean dentures as instructed and continue cleaning your gums, tongue and any remaining teeth. Your dentist will advise whether and how the denture should be stored overnight.
Can a broken or loose denture be repaired?+
Sometimes, but the denture and your mouth need assessment first. Avoid household glue or attempting to reshape the denture yourself.
Can I use CHAS for dentures?+
CHAS support may be available for eligible denture treatment at participating clinics, subject to the denture type, claim limits and prevailing scheme rules. The clinic can check the applicable pathway with you.
